Thoughts on all things tasers, douchebags, and Ryan Howard's contract

In the first two games of the series with the Cardinals, two incredibly stupid guys jumped onto the field. The first guy was waving a rally towel and eluded the popo. Well he was eventually tased and taken off the field. A lot of people were complaining that the taser was too much but I don't see that at all. He knew it was something that he shouldn't be doing and he did it anyway. Also it probably would have hurt the kid more if three or four cops tackled him and wrestled him to the ground. Ugh, I can't stand anyone who does something wrong, knows it's wrong, and then people defend him. He got what he deserved.

The next night, another douchebag decided to go on the field in the ninth inning. He surrendered himself as soon as security approached him. He actually tweeted that he was going to do it, beforehand. He was also in possession in narcotics. He's a 31 year-old loser. I wish he had gotten tased ten times. The only thing that bothers me is that it makes all Phillies fans look awful and like complete assholes. Fuck both of them.

The one thing I really want to talk about is Ryan Howard's contract. He actually signed it during the series with the Giants, so yeah, it's been a while. He signed a 5-year extension worth $125 million. Common thought around baseball is that it's too much money and too many years. I'm quite a romantic and love the idea of a guy playing his entire career with one team. With Ryan Howard, he broke into the majors late, so the years doesn't bother me at all. Plus, he's been getting into better shape the past few years. He's conditioning himself to keep his body fit. I think he'll become a better player and improve in all facets of the game: defense, offense: walks, less strikeouts. It's difficult to project a player's future. The Phils are taking a pretty big risk but if things pan out the way they expect, it'll be a huge reward. I love Ryan Howard and all I hope is that this doesn't prevent Jayson Werth from resigning with the Phillies as well. We need to keep all the pieces together!
